Mitt Romney Pacquiao Fight - The Only Thing Missing Was Chicken Wings

Mitt and Ann Romney ringside at the Manny Pacquiao vs Marquez Fight? Yes. No your eyes weren't playing tricks on you. E Network's Chelsea Handler reported, when Mitt met Pacquiao he said, "I ran for president and I lost." She went on to say, before the fight, Mitt called President Obama to say, "Good luck with that fiscal cliff... I'm in Vegas Bitch."

Ughhhh. Meanwhile, I was home, shamelessly gnawing on nearly a half dozen wings, when I noticed the posh Romney pair sitting ringside in the second row. Some speculated they weren't there to sell self-deportation. Anyhoo, Ann Romney was smashing. All smiles as blood splattered from the Mexican fighter's nose. And her patriotic presidential wannabe seemed to particularly enjoy emphatically singing along to the National Anthem. That is until rapper 50 Cent reminded the defeated Mitt that he was no longer campaigning. (That Hawaiian / Kenyan / Chicagoan won when he sucker punched Mitt, mostly with relatability, humility and one hell of a grass roots campaign.

In case you missed it, Pacquiao vs Marquez Winner Result - Marquez Won Knockout Pacquiao KO!

- This time round, there will be no controversial decision. Marquez took the decision out of the judge’s hands and knocked out Pacquiao in the 6th round. Pacquiao was out cold. And his wife... Devastated by her husband's shocking decisive defeat. (Finally, a woman of color Ann Romney could relate to.) It was an exciting fight that had back-and-forth action, Pacquiao seeming to win in the scorecards. Pacquiao was knocked down in the 2nd round, but came back and knocked down Marquez in the 5th. The 5th round was an intense round that is a candidate for round of the year.

Prized fights are fair distractions, especially when you've got the kind of free time the once Republican Presidential hopeful has. Although, rumor has it, the second republican candidate to lose convincingly to the nation's first African American President, is once again a newly hired executive, earning a whopping $20 million annually. (Hopefully he's got good security. You know those 47%ers and pissed off campaign investors will surely have their grubby hands out.) But if you ask TamTheTasteMkr, the double talker missed out on the real action while hanging out at MGM Grand in Las Vegas. Not a chicken wing to snack on in site. And what's a fight fete without chicken wings?

Nothing, if you ask TamTheTasteMkr. So for those of you watching from home next time, we want make sure you are not relegated to serving oily hot wings with bleu cheese dressing. Take your next fight party fare up a notch by serving more sophisticated wings to the gang ~ chicken wings Mitt and Ann Romney would surely approve of.

And if you're thinking: "Sophisticated wings" an oxymoron? Not necessarily so.

Just check out these five gourmet (and easy!) chicken wing recipes that will have even your most sophisticated diner licking their fingers.

1. Soy-Ginger Glazed Chicken Wings. These salty and exotic soy-ginger glazed chicken wings will add a gourmet element to your fight party buffet.

Remove from oven, baste wings with the drippings and drain excess fat. Pour the soy-ginger mixture over the wings and toss. Return to oven for another 25 to 30 minutes. Serve immediately.

2. Chili-Lime Chicken Wings. This kicked-up chicken wing recipe perfectly complements a Mexican fiesta-themed fight party menu.

3. Lemon Dijon Chicken WingsYou can't get delivery chicken wings like these! The lemon and Dijon mustard flavors combine for a tangy and spicy flavor that rivals traditional chicken wings.

Turn often and baste with the marinade during the last 5 minutes of grilling

4. Sweet 'n Minty Chicken Wings. Mint and chicken wings? We wouldn't have believed it either, but these are no bar menu chicken wings.

Ingredients: 3 pounds chicken wings, rinsed and patted dry with paper towels 1/2 teaspoon salt 1 tablespoon garlic, minced 2 tablespoons fresh mint leaves, chopped 1 tablespoon butter 1/4 cup honey Juice of 1 lemon

Directions: Preheat oven to 375 degrees F.Place chicken in 2, 9 x 13-inch baking dishes or a large roasting pan; sprinkle chicken with salt and toss. zIn a small bowl, mix garlic and mint leaves, then tuck mixture under the skin of chicken wings and set aside. Heat butter, lemon juice, and honey in a saucepan over medium-low heat, stirring continuously until warm and completely combined. Remove mixture from heat and brush evenly over the chicken skin; reserve some of the mixture for later. Bake for 1 hour, or until chicken skin is golden brown and chicken is cooked through. Brush once more with honey butter mixture. Serve hot.

5. Sticky Garlic Chicken Wings This chicken wing recipe could not be easier, but it garners great results!

Ingredients:1 1/2 cups honey 6 tablespoons soy sauce 2 cloves garlic, minced 2 pounds chicken wings, rinsed and patter dry with paper towels Salt and pepper to taste

Directions: Arrange wings in a roasting pan and sprinkle with salt and pepper. In a saucepan, heat honey, soy sauce, and garlic until it comes to a boil. Pour the honey-soy sauce mixture over the chicken; cover with foil and refrigerate for 3 hours, or overnight. When ready to bake, preheat oven to 375 degrees F. Remove chicken wings from refrigerator; bake with foil on for 1 hour, flipping the wings half way through the cooking process. Remove the foil cover, and return to oven for an additional 15 minutes. Remove the wings from their sauce and transfer to a baking rack; return to oven for 10 minutes; turn the chicken wings, and cook for a final 10 minutes.

Caramel Apple Recipe For Autumn Fun - Autumn's Best Of Show - by TamtheTasteMkr

My scrumptious nieces and nephews will always be the apples of my eyes; and especially around this season. It seems we can never find enough time nor enough innovative ways to enjoy fall's bountiful harvest.
Caramel Apple Recipe For Autumn Fun...
Fall is forever my favorite of the four seasons when I'm home in Michigan, as it promises a splendid variety of conventional and unconventional ways to generously celebrate and satisfy my insatiable taste for the grannys, honeys (crisps of course), macs, pumpkin spice, squash, soups and so on ~ (I rhapsodize).

When I'm visiting my second home (NY) I'm like a beaming little one peering through the window of a FAO Swartz at Christmas time, salivating over whatever is gleaming back at me, (and with good reason). There are so many magnificently wonderful little bakeries serving up autumn's goodness, rolled into pastries.  And Soho --- I beat her pavement, chilled-face tilted ever so slightly to the sky, soaking up whatever is left of the sun, in search of haute couture soups.   Such an assortment from Tribecca's chefs, freshest ingredients from farmer's markets and lovingly ladled into their warmest purees (I pretend they're just for me). Cinnamon and spice evidence always seem to make it onto my chin as I scurry around enjoying the most creative assortments of server's faves before I pile my satisfied self back inside the limo and head to the hotel.   Pumpkin stained napkins and bread crumbs from bistros tell the story best of how I licked spoons and slurped autumn's best until my heart was content, shamefully without even the slightest pomp, nor sophistication.

If you haven't savored your season's best, what are you waiting for? What's more, you'll discover that finding utterly irresistible ways to enjoy apples struedeled as pies with vanilla bean ice creams or drenched in the dreamiest creamiest caramel, is so worth a jaunt to your local bookstore's cookbook aisle for a tips and imagery.   Better yet, find the closest cider mill or and put on your walkin' shoes. First will come the cider, then the doughnuts, then the cheeses, sausages and jams ~ oh my. Deliciously worth the drive, I assure you.   I'm particularly enjoying Franklin, MI's warm rich variety of our season's nectar. This quaint spot is truly where I experience My Caramel Apple Recipe For Autumn Fun. Though when I can't make it, I'm literally chugging Hy's courtesy of Westborn or Western Markets ~ spiked with a cinnamon stick, some spiced Captain or a drizzle of DiSaronno and kissed with a dollop of homemade whipped cream. How you like dem apples?! So, what's your season's pleasure?
